Counselling
How Counselling Can Help
Trauma counselling provides a safe, supportive environment to work through difficult emotions like shock, anger, guilt, and depression. Qualified counsellors can help you:
- Process the traumatic event at your own pace.
- Develop coping strategies to manage PTSD symptoms.
- Work through complex grief after losing a loved one.
- Rebuild self-esteem and a sense of purpose.
- Facilitate family healing and communication.
Counsellors use proven therapeutic techniques like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma effectively.
Accessing Counselling
Currently, Aftermath Support endeavours to help clients access high-quality, locally based counselling services through our network of partner providers. We recommend speaking to your GP in the first instance.
Our Vision for In-House Counselling
Our goal is to offer in-house counselling services directly through Aftermath Support. However, providing this specialised support requires additional funding. If you can contribute to helping us raise the funds needed to hire trauma-informed counsellors, please get in touch. With your support, we can expand our services to provide convenient, integrated counselling for road collision victims.
No matter where you are on your healing journey, counselling can make a profound difference. Our team is here to listen and connect you with the compassionate care you deserve. Contact us today to learn more about accessing counselling services.
