Tony Welsby – Ambassador for Aftermath

Tony serves as an ambassador for Aftermath with deep commitment and authenticity, shaped by the devastating loss of his son, Jordan aged just 26 years. On Boxing Day 2020, Jordan was struck as a pedestrian by a motor vehicle and killed, a tragedy that changed Tony’s life forever. In the years since, Tony has channelled his grief into meaningful action, supporting others affected by road death and serious injury with empathy, strength, and lived understanding.

After a 30-year career with Merseyside Police, Tony retrained as a therapist, and is soon to launch his own business ‘FrontLineMinds PLC’ driven by a desire to help people navigate trauma, loss, and emotional distress. His professional background, combined with his personal experience, allows him to offer grounded, compassionate support to individuals and families facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Tony volunteers as a Champion for Aftermath, raising awareness, offering peer support, and helping to ensure that no family feels alone in the aftermath of a road tragedy. He also serves as a trustee for the ThinBlueLineUK charity, supporting the wellbeing of police officers and their families across the country.

Tony enjoys spending time with family, travel, walking and rugby league and brings a powerful voice to Aftermath’s mission. His work reflects both his resilience and his commitment to creating safer roads, providing emotional and practical support for all those affected by road related incidents, creating stronger support networks, and a more understanding community for those affected by sudden loss.
