It’s hard to believe that Aftermath Connect has been running for a whole month already.
Since launching, we have seen this community begin to grow into exactly what we hoped it would be, a place where people affected by road trauma can connect with others who understand, share experiences and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.
Aftermath Connect was created as a private, supportive space for survivors, witnesses and family members who may not need one-to-one support but would value the connection of others facing similar circumstances.
We are incredibly proud of the response so far and want to thank everyone who has joined, contributed and helped make this community what it is.
Our Volunteer Moderator, Chantelle Easdown, has been instrumental in helping shape and support the group from day one:
“I didn’t realise how many people there would be, and I’m really enjoying being part of it and seeing how it’s growing.”
A huge thank you also goes to our Digital Media Coordinator, Chantelle Owen, whose vision, planning and dedication helped bring Aftermath Connect to life:
“It makes me so happy to finally see this vision come to life. After all the planning, ideas and hurdles along the way, I can’t believe the group has been running for a whole month already. It’s an incredible achievement and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
Our CEO, Karen Blair, reflected on the first month of Aftermath Connect:
“After just one month, it’s been really encouraging to see how much Aftermath Connect has grown. We created it because people’s needs are different, but feeling less alone and staying connected with others who understand why you are there can really matter. A huge thank you to our moderators with lived experience for supporting Aftermath Connect and helping to shape it as it develops.”
We are always looking for people who would like to support the group and volunteer their time to help grow this community. If you’d like to get involved, please get in touch by emailing admin@aftermathsupport.org.uk
If you or someone you know has been affected by a road traffic collision and would benefit from connecting with others who understand, we’d love for you to join or share Aftermath Connect.
Together, we can continue building a community of support, understanding and connection.
