Our Team

Karen Blair – Chief Executive Officer

Karen joined Aftermath Support in 2021 bringing with her over 20 years of experience in leading, developing, and delivering services in the third sector, primarily in the field of advocacy, throughout the Northwest of England.

While her experience has predominantly been within the Health and Social Care arena, she is passionate about ensuring people have access to the support they need to help them access and navigate public services and processes, have their rights upheld and their voices heard to have choice and control over their lives and the tools they need to overcome challenging or life changing situations.

Karen is also a Trustee for Wirral Mencap and volunteers as an Independent Person for CYPD complaints. She uses any spare time to relax and unwind and spend time with family.

Rachel Storkey – RTC Victim Care & Support Officer

Rachel joined Aftermath in 2022. She previously worked in educational administration and is now the glue that holds us all together here in Aftermath.

Before having children, she worked as bilingual personal assistant to the director general of an international trade association, traveling mostly to the Pacific coast of South America. Rachel was born and grew up in Argentina, Paraguay, and Spain, coming to England for uni.

In recent years, she relocated with her family to Wirral to be close to her parents. Rachel’s experience helps her keep calm and composed and she makes sure our office, our team and our processes run smoothly.

Rachel is our first port of call for referrals into the service and she makes sure they are processed quickly so those who need our support are swiftly contacted by one of the support team. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, running (pretty slowly!), spending time with her family.

Tim Hodgson – RTC Victim Care & Support Officer

Tim has been supporting people affected by road crash in Aftermath since 2008. Tim has had varying roles and is experienced in training and supporting volunteers, raising awareness of our service, supporting the back-office functions of the Charity, and providing support to those who have been seriously injured and to bereaved families.

Tim joined Aftermath from Merseyside Roads Policing where he volunteered to be a family liaison officer within his role and as a result, he understands all too well the impact and devastation road crash causes.

Tim has also been a Scout Leader for too many years and in his spare time, if he’s not taking the troop to camp, you’ll find him spending time on the canals of the Northwest in his narrowboat.

Nicci Coote – RTC Victim Care & Support Officer

Nicci joined Aftermath in 2022. She qualified as a solicitor in 2000.  During her training contract she gained a vast amount of experience in personal injury and clinical negligence.

She was also involved in a multi-party action with 2500+ claimants.  She also has some experience of criminal law, having worked in a criminal firm upon qualifying.

Nicci joined a top 20 law firm, where she worked for 22 years.  She dealt with predominantly high value claims involving fatal incidents and catastrophic injuries working closely with families in difficult, life-changing circumstances. Nicci also worked as an in-house solicitor for RSAM where she worked with clients who suffered from physical and/or mental disabilities. During this time Nicci worked on a high-profile Court of Appeal case.

Nicci came to Aftermath as she wanted to pursue a new challenge and since joining has undertaken counselling and mental health qualifications. Nicci likes to spend time outside of work with her family and dogs and socialising with friends.

Jane Bolderson – RTC Victim Care & Support Officer

Jane joined Aftermath Support in 2025, bringing over 23 years’ nursing experience in secondary care, community, and primary care. Her career has been built on communication, empathy, and advocacy, supporting people through health, emotional and psychological challenges.

Alongside her professional work, Jane has supported other charitable organisations. She helped in the development of the Serenity Garden for Military Veterans and their families in Eastham and previously volunteered as an NSPCC Childline counsellor, providing over 500 hours of support to children and young people.

In her own time Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends, proud mum to 3 sons, long walks with her 2 dogs and weekly Pilates sessions.

Chantelle Owen – Digital Media Coordinator

Originally from Australia and holding a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Chantelle began her career in the legal sector, working with respected firms such as Hill Dickinson LLP and DWF. After being made redundant during the Covid pandemic, she pivoted into freelancing, using the opportunity to upskill in digital marketing and social media. What started as a necessity quickly became a passion, and she has since built a successful business helping brands of all sizes craft their online presence.

She understands what it takes to showcase an organisation in the digital space and recognises the importance of a strong, engaging online identity in today’s world. Her work spans both corporate and charitable sectors, including volunteering as a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for a leading Liverpool charity.

While she remains connected to the legal and mediation field, her focus is on helping businesses grow through compelling storytelling, strategic content, and digital visibility.

In her downtime, she enjoys travelling and spending time with family.
